COACHING
I have been passionately coaching runners for over 10 years. I am certified as an Endurance Specialist by the Track & Field Academy, and a certified USATF Level 2 - Endurance Coach. I coach runners within the MD/VA/DC area but also outside of the area virtually by email/phone/zoom. Everyone is different, so I coach each runner differently. I look at what each athlete's strengths and weaknesses are, and their background. The more I learn about them, the better I can coach them. While my purpose is to steer the athlete in the right direction, it is also to listen to them and study them as an individual. There is never a one size fits all approach. I am a coach who is constantly looking to improve and learn from my athletes! I have coached ages ranging from high school to age 60+. Whatever pace you run or when you started running, don't feel intimidated by accomplishments of runners I've coached-everyone has to start somewhere! It's all about what YOU want to achieve and what makes sense for YOU.
Types of runners I've coached
*Youth: I have worked with kids who are trying to improve their running in order to improve their primary sports such as baseball.
*High School: While I currently coach high school cross country and track, I also work with high school runners on an individual basis. These young runners might be part of a very large team and may need some additional individual attention.
*10 Miles or less: I've worked with runners trying to improve their 1 mile time, running the Army Ten Miler or Cherry Blossom 10 Miler, and every distance in between!
*Half/Full Marathoners: I coach marathoners of all paces. I have coached beginners, Boston qualifiers, and a few elite marathoners as well.
*Masters/Age Group: I have worked with masters runners who focus on placing in their age groups in road races, as well as masters competitors on the track. I currently coach Louise Kelley, who is the 1500m silver medalist (age 55-59) at the 2019 USATF Masters Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
*Runners in the Military: I currently am working with a runner in the Marines who is trying to run 18:00 for the 3 mile. If you are trying to improve your fitness test, I would be happy to help you knock some of your time off!
*Elite/Sub Elite Runners: I have worked with a few elite/sub elite runners and am looking to work with more! Having the experience of training and competing at a high level myself well into my late 30's, I understand what it takes to be consistent at a high level. While I am a national class competitor, I have also studied world class running at the highest level.
*Anyone else! Whatever you're looking to improve, I am committed to helping you find your performance!
